The clearest possible sign that Kazakhstan is
continuing on the path to democratic reform came on Sunday 19th
September when millions of people - fifty six per cent of those
eligible to vote - took part in
multi-party
elections
to the Majilis, the country’s lower parliamentary house.
This website, published by the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan,
tells the full story of the 2004 parliamentary election, including
details of the legal framework for the elections, the policies of
the various candidates and parties, and the final results.
